Learn More About the Rohingya Refugee Crisis
Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya people have had to flee their homes because of persecution and violence in Myanmar. At the peak of the crisis in 2017, thousands crossed into Bangladesh daily, many walking for days. They arrived in need of humanitarian assistance, which UNHCR helped provide. Now living in Bangladesh in the world’s largest refugee settlement, every year from May to October, Rohingya refugees face another threat to their safety and survival – extreme weather. Monsoon season presents a severe threat and it is imperative to reinforce homes, train first responders and help people find safe shelter. Please help UNHCR by donating a shelter reinforcement kit now.
